HOW DO POLITICAL CONSTELLATIONS FUNCTION?

Prior to the constellation, the collaboration between the IFPC and its clients begins with an extensive dialogue which discusses the background of a conflict, consolidates questions for the constellation and filters out the relevant elements of the system.

The actual constellation takes place in a large group of people. The client chooses representatives, placing them intuitively in the room. The representatives stand for the client him/herself as well as the most important elements of the system.

Working with the inner vision
Each client has an inner vision of the conflict. The act of placing a constellation in a room projects this vision outwards. The task of the facilitator is to now grasp this vision. He/she questions the representatives standing in the room on their emotional state, insights and impulses. The natural, human ability of representative awareness brings results which are surprisingly realistic and precise.

In the course of a constellation the inner vision evolves step by step, gradually expanding to include people or elements which have previously been little regarded. Each change in the inner vision has an impact on the system as a whole: the awareness of individuals evolves, concealed aspects come to light and new relationships develop between members of the system. The dynamic in a conflict is guided through an attentive and open-minded process. Thus, a new vision is developed, tension eases in relationships, latent resources are laid open and new courses of action become possible.

After a constellation
Political constellations can inspire and support the client to develop a deeper understanding of the system which evoked the conflict. This alone is a valuable outcome. After a constellation, our clients often find themselves able to cope with their situation more freely and with a new perspective.

Naturally, all participants of a constellation are bound by absolute confidentiality. Each constellation is documented anonymously and in detail, to insure quality standards. Every constellation receives a comprehensive follow-up coaching.
